Joe is a CT-based playwright, whose many published and produced plays have been seen across the US and abroad. His ROMANCE LANGUAGE was produced last fall off-Broadway in NYC at Ars Nova. Other published and plays include WIDOWS, PIG TALE, UNDERSTANDING LEAR, A QUEER CAROL, BED & BREAKFAST, CLAPTRAPP, THE MISSION, MASSAGE THERAPY, CHILD SUPPORT, etc. Member: Dramatists Guild, TOSOS, Emerging Artists Theater, Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.
Morgana Wilborn, Director
MORGANA WILBORN (she/her/hers) was raised, and is a current resident of Dallas, TX (Stolen land once stewarded by the Caddo, Wichita, Comanche, Cherokee, Kickapoo, and Tawakoni). She is a proud graduate of the University of North Texas (BA, Theater), and The University of Houston (MA Theater Education). For the past 14 years, she has served the community as an arts educator/administrator. She currently served as the Managing Director of Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC), and Co-Managing Director at DNAWORKS LLC, Dialogue and Healing Through the Arts. She was the Director of Education at Dallas Theater Center (DTC) and continues as an Adjunct Professor of Theater and Humanities at Eastfield and El Centro College, and now University of North Texas, Dallas. Before serving for DTC and DNAWORKS, she served for 8 years as a theater director and instructor for Dallas ISD. She has directed and acted for the stage with companies such as Bishop Arts Theater Center, University of North Texas, TheaterMakers Studio, Kitchen Dog Theatre, Artstillery, SMU Meadows School of the Arts, Stage West Theater, Soul Rep Theatre, Cara Mia Theatre Company, Water Tower Theater, and House Party Theatre. She is also a certified Racial Healing practitioner. As a proud African American artist, educator, and activist, Morgana hopes to honor, uplift, and empower bodies of culture in her service to the community through mindful engagement and equitable collaboration.
Meet the Cast
Thad Isbell, Grandpa
Thad Isbell is a veteran stage/film actor who serves on the Board of Directors for Hip Pocket Theatre. He has worked with Firestage, Teatro de la Rosa, Butterfly Connection, Hip Pocket Theatre, The Lost Shakespeare Guild, Ft Worth Community Theatre, Fair Park Company, Vertical Horizon Films, FineLine Films and others. Thad is grateful for the opportunity to work with this talented cast in 'A Light in Dark Places'. Thanks to everyone involved.
Tilly Zinser, Terri
Tilly Zinser is acting in the role of Terri, for the play Joie de Vivre, as part of the performances for A Light in Dark Places. At 11 years old, Tilly’s affinity for performance and theatre developed in Shakespeare Dallas’summer camp programs, where she has acted in a performance of Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Acting in several roles for each play in Shakespeare Dallas’ summer camp performances, Tilly’s roles in Macbeth included Macduff, Witch 2, and Ghost of Banquo; and for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tilly played the roles of Hermia and Bottom. Tilly’s school activities include competing in Destination Imagination, where she has performed improv, created sets, prop design, and acted as a part of several competitions and plays for Destination Imagination, including most recently a Flip the Script re-telling of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Beyond theatre and performance, Tilly’s achievements also include being elected as the Class President in 4thgrade, and this year, Tilly continues to serve her role of Class President, now for her 5th grade class at the School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove. Tilly has also been training in martial arts since she was 4 years old, and has recently earned the rank of San Kyu (Brown III) in Kenpo Karate, where she is also a part of the youth leadership program.
