Man Behind the Matter
Nicholas Jaqua, Playwright
Through other pursuits: climbing mountains, poetry, writing songs, playing music and a brief stint in the tech world, storytelling has held singular for Nick. Considerations to write the great American novel and journalism (both print and photo) gave way to the acting bug which bit him while living in Indianapolis, Indiana and after seeing Marlon Brando in Last Tango in Paris. Not long after this he moved to Hollywood to pursue acting, where he’s lived since 2008, all the while writing scripts which he now believes are ready to see the light of day.
Austin Iredale, Director
Austin is a Pennsylvania native and graduate of the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles. As a director his previous theatre credits include Nick Dear’s Frankenstein and Tim Kelly’s The Vampyre, both co-directed with Rick Peters, as well as Been So Long by Ché Walker at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival. As an actor, most recently on stage Austin played the role of Siggie in the Los Angeles Premiere of Clifford Odet's Golden Boy, as well as The Murderer in The Vagrancy's production of MacBeth.
This is his second year participating in A Light in Dark Places, and he cannot imagine a more noble use of the theatre platform. Thank you Kelly for reaching so many people with your vision, Salim for your tireless producing, Nick for your wry, thoughtful script, and all the actors, directors and volunteers for your dedication to this cause. And lastly thanks to my sister, Aoife, for continually redefining for me the definitions of strength and perseverance. Much love.

I am a retired physician who has been acting for ten years. I have performed in several plays over the years. It has become my passion.
Owen Conway, Manlow
Owen Conway has been living and working in Los Angeles for the past 10 years. Credits include Mark Ruffalo's "Sympathy For Delicious", Ryan Murphy's "FEUD: Bette and Joan" and the forthcoming "The System" from director Iroc Daniels. He's thrilled and honored to be back at the Adler, working on such a beautiful play with such talented and dedicated people.
Mitch Holden, Eisenhower

Mitchell is an alumnus of The Stella Adler Conservatory, where he studied with Joanne Linville and Arthur Mendoza. He has played a broad range of roles on stage from comedy playing Boo in the award-winning play, The Marriage of Bette & Boo, directed by Tim O’Neil; to Shakespeare as the Ghost of Hamlet’s Father, directed by celebrated actor, director and teacher Joanne Linville and in many modern American classics, including Clifford Odets’s Golden Boy as Mickey, directed by Rick Peters, in a return to the Stella Adler stage. His most recent role was as Mr. Parsby in the premiere of Malicious Bunny directed by Bryan Fox.
