Patricia Lawler Kenet, Writer

Patricia Lawler Kenet is an attorney and writer. Her play “Ten-Minute Warning” was selected among over 500 entries for the 25 the Aloha Theatre Playwriting Festival.

Her play “Patti Did Us In” was a finalist in the New York New Works Theatre Festival in 2018.

She has written two non-fiction books and her essays have appeared in Slate.com, The New York Times, New York Newsday and The Fiction Pool.

She studied playwriting at the Barrow Theatre Group; screenwriting and television comedy writing at the Jacob Krueger Studio and Improvisational Comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade.

She is a board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NYC-Metro).

JJ Mayes, Director

JJ Mayes is a Member of Sacred Fools theater where he will be Directing the World Premiere of Peter Fluet's Tangerine Sunset this Spring. This past summer he Directed HFF18's Top Solo Show The Word and Top Comedy Nominee Night of the Rootbeer. He directed last year's Hollywood Fringe award winning show Definition of Man which performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. You can find his dog on Instagram @king_renly_the_chug

Ruth Silveira: What you might have seen her in lately: “One Way Ticket to Oregon” by BC Caldwell (also directed by JJ Mayes) and “Past Time” by Padraic Duffy. Or you may have seen “There is a Happiness That Morning Is” by Mickle Maher which she directed. Ruth is a long time member of Sacred Fools Theater Company where she has acted, directed, written, and costumed. She is also one of the leaders of Sacred Fools Summer Theater Camp For Kids. In earlier days Ruth worked with The Committee improv group in San Francisco, was in some plays at Berkeley Rep, and did a bunch of radio commercials. She is pleased to be working on this worthwhile project.
