John grew-up in the desert but has called New York, London and Amsterdam home for the past 10 years. His first play was a thriller set on a train written at age 8 - it ran for 1 performance and no known copies are still in existence. John enjoys researching and writing about human behavior, emotion and relationships and is why he earned degrees in Psychology and Counseling, maintaining his credential as a Certified Mental Health Counselor. In addition to plays, he also publishes in academic books and journals on the topics of sexual identity and spirituality. In playwriting, John enjoys experimenting with form and structure, utilizing improvisation as a way to generate creativity as well as its own art form. He now teaches and performs improvisation around the world with ensembles and as a solo act, and is a regular performer in true storytelling events worldwide.

John’s plays have had readings in New York, London and Amsterdam. His most recent production was a full-length play he co-authored titled, The B Word, which had a successful 2-week run and multiple sold-out performances in Europe. John believes in the importance of storytelling in its many forms and the unique impact of live theatre. He is therefore incredibly honored to take part in this amazing festival of hope and awareness with his play, The Most Brave Girl In The Whole Wide World.
